CONTEMPORARY LITERATURE ACROSS WORKS
AND BOOKS OF FAMOUS WRITERS DESCENDING FROM ITALIAN EMIGRATION: A
SOCIOLINGUISTIC, LITERARY AND SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME ON SEARCH OF THE LOST
LANGUAGE AND THE INHERITED CULTURE ENCOUNTERED
Relations between Italy and other Nations which for
centuries have sheltered our emigrants are very deep and excellent in any
respect, very often marked by an indelible link of blood and close friendship. Nephews and
descendants of that old but not forgotten emigration, are now important and
loved citizens in their respective countries, in most of cases they know a
little or nothing at all of NEW and contemporary ITALY, even because in some
cases they perceived or tempted to delete the sad an terrible histories of
their ascendants, which suffered a lot the transplant in other lands and
cultures. Most of these personal and families stories are told in their
remarkable poems and novels. They are parts of a different and unforgettable
world that we must remember with them to help each other in improving and
understanding the common origins, languages and cultures. Many of these
writers have and maintain, sometime with pride too, Italian surnames. Most of
them are famous in their countries, but unknown in Italy where their books
are not translated either. This research Project aims to know, deepen and
encounter this tremendous and beautiful mix of sagas, deeds, this relation
between myth and history, where are clearly told ordinary problems and joys
of men, women, families, ways of being, loving, feeling the world, talking
languages and dialects. A total immersion in a world that must be understood
and taught to other people and young generations, as to evoke and create personal,
linguistically, cultural and human needs of interaction and travel across the
times, or at least recreating a
return journey into their ancestors’ lands and boroughs, surely very
useful and for everybody.

Meet and interview with about 20/30 famous
writers belonging to 3 different generations of poets, novelists, dramatists
and other types). In case of difficulty, the interview can be
realized also by e-mail, fax or post. |
Transcription and debugging of tapes in
original language (Spanish or English), immediate translation into Italian Text revision with Authors Insertion of all interviews in a Database

Analysis and careful investigation of all
themes encountered Creation of a WEB personal page for each
interviewed Connection to existing links and pages
Permanent advertisement on italianistic site: www.italianlang.org Objective analysis of different ways to meet
financial help for the project and results of investigation, either with
agreements, partnerships, services and other useful way that could get to
publish a book for each language or only one with a bilingual text. |

PUBLISHING AND EVALUATING THE RESEARCH AND

Choose the Editor that will publish the text
with the accompanying translation into Italian, or two different texts for
each language |
Advertisement, Panels and conferences, Public
and privates meetings to promote and present the whole research and
initiative jointly with Institutions of both Countries |
Send data, texts and publications to
Universities, Institutions, Foundations, Cultural Entities and Corporations,
linguistical study centres and libraries of corresponding 2 Nations, so that
any teacher, student, and anyone interested could make good use of them. |

apart with Authorities, contributers and sponsors) Evaluation of any possible continuation of

Editors and Publishers interested to edit acts and book,
either monolingual or bilingual, are strongly invited to contact our
Direction |
Italian Ministers and Regions are strongly
invited to take part to the Project. We invite as well other possible sponsors,
authorities and interested personalities, to contribute to the success of
this initiative giving their possible help or at least promoting, advertising
and spreading the project |
Material questionnaires with complete texts
(25 questions for men and 27 for women) will be sent privately only to
participants and after their enrolment |

PS: Project (Pilot 1) in Argentina finished
and we presume to finish the Italian translation soon. It is now on progress
Proyect Perù. |
